The Foston’s Ash Inn is under new ownership – come and join our team!

This traditional, Cotswold pub consists of a small, friendly team who take great pride in making The Foston’s Ash a great venue and we are looking to recruit a Full-Time Manager to add to the team. We are both a local pub and also a destination restaurant with a varied seasonal menu including local produce.

You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the pub, along with an established team and if needed the support and advice of the owners.

The ideal applicant would have previous experience in a similar management role within the hospitality industry or be looking to step up from an Assistant Managerial role at the same level or higher, be familiar with cellar management and stock control.

You will need to have a positive, “can do” attitude, sustainable enthusiasm and great attention to detail. Fantastic customer service and high standards are needed along with the ability to train and motivate your team to provide the same.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the front of house day-to-day operation and management of the bar and restaurant.

In general, your duties will include:
• Interacting with customers (including serving food and drink) and ensuring that high standards of customer service are maintained. Ability to provide and maintain excellent customer service is key
• Making sure you and other staff comply with health and safety regulations at all times in the pub, kitchen and other areas
• Running promotional campaigns to market in-house products
• Managing reservations, pre-orders both over the phone and via email
• Collecting and acting on customer feedback to improve the overall running of the venue
• Undertaking regular stock checks, placing orders with suppliers and restocking (which involves physical work)
• Ensuring regular maintenance of the premises, including cleaning lines and organising any necessary repairs
• Managing the front of house team and provide excellent leadership to our staff
• Recruiting, training and managing staff, including leading meetings to update and motivate staff
• Monitoring profitability and performance to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded
• Meeting with the owners to assess pub performance and set sales targets
• Maintaining relations with members of the local community, the police and liquor licensing authorities.
• Organising and advertising seasonal events, such as Halloween Evenings, Christmas Lunches, Easter events etc
• Fulfilling cellar tasks such as line cleaning, tapping cask etc
• Ensure cash-up and reconciliation procedures are completed correctly
