100% Organic British Polo Gin® Sweeps the Awards Boards

3 Stars for British Polo Gin
Building on 100% year on year growth, we are delighted to report that British Polo Gin® has been awarded two of the most prestigious international awards out there for our one-of-a-kind organic gin, British Polo Botanical Gin, as well as an award closer to home. Going the extra mile to be 100% organic appears to have paid off, giving us a rich and smooth flavour profile and we couldn't be happier!
On 1 August, The Great Taste Awards 2018 announced British Polo Gin® Botanical Gin’s receipt of three stars, a feat which only 192 products out of 12,634 entrants achieved in this year’s competition. No other gin achieved the prestigious 3 star award and we are delighted. We can therefore suggest that British Polo Gin is leading the field both in the organic gin market and regular gin market.
The Great Taste board commented that, “The balance marks it out for universal purpose – it simply tastes great.” They also noted that our Botanical Gin has an, “Expressive nose with floral notes and woody hints, a very nice delicate mouthfeel, subtle sweetness and smoothness leads laced with spicy juniper, floral woody notes, good finish with crisp, lengthy notes.”
There were 12,634 entries into Great Taste this year and of those products, 192 were awarded a 3 star, 1,207 received a 2 star and 3,254 were awarded a one star accolade. The panel of judges this year included: MasterChef 2018 champion, Kenny Tutt, chef and food writer, Elly Curshen, eco chef and food writer, Tom Hunt, author and chef, Zoe Adjonyoh, baker Tom Herbert, author and blogger, Izy Hossack, and baker and recipe writer, Martha Collison, as well as food buyers from Harrods, Selfridges and Sourced Market.
In other exciting news, British Polo Gin® was also awarded a 2018 Bronze Award by this year’s International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC). For nearly 50 years this competition has highlighted the best wines and spirits from across the globe, setting the international benchmark for quality.
Finally, and closer to home, in May British Polo Gin® was awarded The Best Drinks Producer Award, sponsored by Grant Thornton, ahead of some exceedingly strong competition from across the region at The Western Daily Press Food & Farming Awards 2018.
